A team of representatives from Saudi Aramco were welcomed to TWI’s headquarters near Cambridge on 23 September 2025, where they received updates on the latest testing results for a novel RTR pipe joining methodology that is making strong progress towards the next development milestone.
Saudi Aramco’s Waleed Al Naeem (VP of Engineering and Chief Engineer), Yasser AlSubhi (Manager, Inspection Department) and Kostas Vatopoulos (Senior Engineering Specialist) were met by experts from TWI as well as TWI CEO Caroline Gumble (Dr).

In addition to the NIC discussions, Aramco also discussed how they can leverage TWI’s expertise in inspection, analysis and technology development to support their asset integrity needs across the both metallic and non-metallic pipeline challenges.
