NIC to be Represented at International Composites Summit

Non-Metallic Innovation Centre (NIC) experts are due to attend and present in the International Composites Summit (ICS) in Milton Keynes this September.

The summit, which is being held from 6-7 September, 2023 at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes, is revolving around the theme of, ‘Reinventing the Global Supply Chain to Enable a Sustainable Future.’

Representing the NIC at the ICS is TWI Consultant, Chris Worrall, who will present a talk titled, ‘Making the Next Generation of RTR Pipe Connections a Reality.'

As an expert in the use of composite structures in different industries, Chris has been instrumental in delivering non-metallic solutions for the oil and gas industry while working with TWI under the umbrella of the NIC.

Also due to present at the event is NIC’s Project Manager, Sadik Omairey, on the topic of, ‘Empowering Net Zero Solutions: The Vital Role of Composite Materials in Sustainable Innovations.’

This presentation comes as part of Sadik’s work as Senior Research Fellow for the TWI-based Brunel Composites Centre (BCC).

The ICS will bring together speakers from academia and industry, along with industry leaders, researchers, and innovators from across the composites sector, for knowledge sharing, networking and the opportunity to explore the latest advancements in composite materials internationally.
