The Non-Metallic Innovation Centre research sponsor, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), has won the ‘Breakthrough Technological Project of the Year’ at the ADIPEC Awards 2021.
The award recognises ADNOC’s work in promoting the use of innovative non-metallic materials over traditional metals for pipes. These polymers and plastics do not corrode, are 100% recyclable and are also cheaper and faster to install than metal pipelines. The Non-Metallic Innovation Centre (formed by ADNOC, Aramco and TWI) is at the forefront of this shift in materials technology.
By helping to promote non-metallic pipe manufacturing, ADNOC is helping to move towards providing sustainable energy for life.
The NIC would like to congratulate ADNOC on the ADIPEC award.
